Rocky River -
The Harbor Court learned it was one of several retirement
facilities in the state to earn the highest rating on
th Ohio Department of Health survey.
The Harbor Court earned a deficiency-free
rating, meaning it had met all of the regulations associated
with assistant living facilities. the unannounced survey
took place on June 2 and involved intense scrutiny of
all aspects of the facility, including a physical inspection
of the building; observation of the medication administration;
examination of the administrative and nursing charts
and the entire food operation, from menus to water temperature
of the dishwasher, and inspection of employee files
and other tests.
Harbor Court officials are excited
about recieving such an excellent rating.
"I couldn't be more proud,"
said Jo Ann Robinette, the Harbor Court administrator.
"Our entire staff strives for perfection and it
shows. We know The Harbor Court is a top-notch facility,
and now the entire state knows, too."
This is the first time The Harbor
Court has recieved such a high rating . Robinette said
several other facilities in Ohio did recieve the same
rating, so it is not rare, but it is a nice thing to
have.
"We're just pleased for our residents.
The rating indicates the measure of quality we have
in our facility, and that the residents, who are the
governing body, enjoy here." Robinette said, "We
also want to thank all of our employees and staff for
their hard work and diligent service to recieve such
a high rating."
The survey is conducted every 15 months
by the State Department of Health. While the Harbor
Court has been in operation for 15 years, this was only
the third survey conducted at the center, due to assisted
living only recently being licensed in Ohio.
Robinette said the Harbor Court will
continue to live up to the standards of the deficiency
free rating, and hopes to recieve it again during its
next survey.
